Public Transportation

We encourage you to use public transportation when coming to visit Dumbarton Oaks. There are a number of bus and metro options. Walking to the museum or gardens along historic tree-lined streets or through the heart of Georgetown is a particularly nice way to start off a visit to the neighborhood.

By Bus

Metrobus routes 31, 32, 36, D1, D2, D3, D6, and G2 come within two–three blocks of the garden gate and museum entrances. The Georgetown Circulator also has a stop at Wisconsin and 34th Streets, less than two blocks away from the museum entrance.
