Joseph Breck & Sons

Joseph Breck & Sons, a wholesaler and retail company located in Boston, Massachusetts specializing in seed, flowers and agricultural tools was founded by Joseph Breck in the 19th century. The company was located at both 85 State Street and 85 Franklin Street in Boston Massachusetts in the 1940's. Receipts and letters from the company during the same time period show that Beatrix Farrand purchased seed and roses from them for the Dumbarton Oaks Gardens, Washington, D.C. In 1946, a letter to Isabelle M. Stover, secretary to Beatrix Farrand, includes a typewritten statement that the company is in its 129th year of doing business.
