Xavier Perrot

Perrot, Xavier

Xavier Perrot is a French-born landscape artist and founding partner of Cao | Perrot Studio. He leads the CPS atelier in France. He studied landscape design at Saint - Ilan in Brittany, and the Conservatoire International des Parcs et Jardins et du Paysage in Chaumont-sur-Loire, France. He was awarded the Laureats des Nouveaux Albums des Jeunes Architectes et Paysagistes (Emerging Young Architects and Landscape Designer) Award by the French Ministry of Culture in 2008. In 2006, Perrot collaborated with a friend, Vietnamese-American artist Andy Cao, to open the Cao | Perrot Studio, which operates out of offices in Los Angeles and Paris. Cao and Perrot share a common vision of blending art and landscape, often using utilitarian materials like chicken wire alongside mother of pearl and Swarovski crystal.

The Arbor Terrace at Dumbarton Oaks hosted "Cloud Terrace," a wire and crystal sculpture by Cao | Perrot, from April 2012 to October 2013.
