Description
Typewritten letter from Anne Sweeney to Beatrix Farrand, January 16, 1946 responding to a letter from Beatrix Farrand dated January 2, 1946 about postcard with views of the Dumbarton Oaks Gardens; photographs from Stewart Bros. photographic negatives; substituting as a secretary for Mildred Bliss; the decreased visitors to the gardens due to winter; and the government offices vacating Dumbarton Oaks after World War II.
Anne Sweeney reports it might be better for her to have the funds at Dumbarton Oaks to purchase prints for the Catalogue House rather than going through Isabelle Stover.
Copy of original letter, original lacking in collection. Copy of letter typed on two leaves of paper, 2nd leaf typewritten on both sides.
Unsigned, probably sent by Anne Sweeney based as it is a response to Beatrix Farrand's letter addressed to her, B:BF 1946.01.02.
