Description
Typewritten letter discusses replacements and replanting of areas of the gardens and how it should be funded. Beatrix Farrand is not certain why John Thacher is stalling on work for the Herbaceous Border. She requests Mildred Bliss ask James Bryce to respond to Beatrix Farrand's letters in a timely way, as it would help garden matters. John Thacher might eliminate Anne Sweeney's position which Beatrix Farrand disapproves. She plans on meeting John Thacher in Boston, November 3, 1946.
Postscript asks if Mildred Bliss liked the Odilon Redon oil painting she sent to her that she purchased from Edith Wharton's estate having once hung in Pavillon Colombe.
On Beatrix Farrand's Reef Point, Bar Harbor, Maine letterhead with handwritten signature in ink.
Marked as received [October] 26 [1946].
