Description
Typewritten letter listing garden issues to discuss at an upcoming meeting with Mildred Bliss. Also mentions Beatrix Farrand purchasing two Odilon Redon flower paintings from Edith Wharton's estate at Pavillon Colombe. Pavillon Colombe, Edith Wharton's home, was sold to Arthur Sachs, a financier and the brother of Paul J. Sachs, Director of the Fogg Museum. Paul Sachs plays an important part in the future transition of Dumbarton Oaks to Harvard University and development of the scholarly programs and home for the humanities.
This is an unsigned copy of original. Original letter lacking in collection. Copy includes a typewritten note: "Mrs. Farrand has asked me to sign this letter for her" suggesting that Beatrix Farrand's secretary signed her name on the original letter. Secretary possibly, Isabelle M. Stover.
