Description
Drawing undated, new roof for Kitchen Garden houses possibly created between 1924-1939 based on a drawing for garden houses with flatter roofs dated 1924, GD F-3-07 and drawing of the doors for the wash house, GD B-3-14 dated 1929.
Written along bottom: "Wash house."
Written at top: "Cornice same as others," possibly referring to drawing GD F-3-17A showing detail of cornice.
Roof style is similar to one for the Garden House at Kinross House, a late 17th-century house in Scotland and shown in Formal gardens in England and Scotland : their planning and arrangement, architectural and ornamental features by H. Inigo Triggs,1902. The roof is also similar to garden houses at Murthly Castle, Perthshire and and Montacute House, Somerset shown in Garden Ornament by Gertrude Jekyll, 1918.
