Description

Handwritten by unknown hand in middle center in pencil: "Said I wd. design whole - & have panels executed & installed, for Mosaic man wd. - help local craftsman start ceiling and end arches."

Reprographic print of the Allyn Cox painting, GD I-3-80A for the loggia arches. Also similar watercolor is GD I-3-80D. Allyn Cox painted murals using oil on canvas for placement on the panels in the loggia. The canvas paintings were removed in 1948 due to deterioration and replaced with mosaics by the Venetian Art Mosaics Studio following the same Allyn Cox design.

Print unsigned, unknown creator of copy, original painting created by Allyn Cox.

Print undated, created after 1927. Could have been created for the installations of the paintings or for use when installing the mosaics some time between 1960-1970.

Written on verso: The Loggia-; Cox mosaics; R-5; I-III 3-79.
