Notes

Auctarium T.1.11 (Summary Catalogue no. 20603; Coxe Misc. no. 189).  From the collection of Jan Meerman of the Hague.  Bombycine paper, fifteenth century, 205 folios.  Various rhetorical works, including several by Michael Psellus; also Aristides; Isocrates' Encomium to Helen; &c.

For detailed list of contents, see Coxe's entry in the Bibliography and Online Resources, which Barbour & Wilson in their 1969 revision leave unchanged.

Scribe according to Πίνακες is Ἰωάννης Μόσχος of Lacedæmonia (RGK 1.203, 2.279, 3.336), teacher of Marcus Antonius Antimachus. Not in Vogel & Gardthausen, though his (kinsman?) Δημήτριος ὁ Μόσχος is.  For John, see Sathas in Bibliography and Online Resources (also Sathas's index for other Μόσχοι) and Hody, vol. 2, ch. 8 (also in Bibliography and Online Resources).

Fols. 193sqq. Isocrates, Nicocles, sive Suasorius.

Fols. Coxe's lengthy entry (q.v. in Online Resources) gives a first edition of this work; for subsequent editions see Moore sub lem. (not on Google Books preview).

198r-199r  Psellus, Oration on the Characters of John Chrysostom and the Cappadocian Fathers (BHG 2176; Iter Psellianum no. 1013 (GRA.RHE.21; pp. 406sq.)).

In our Online Resources we give a link to the Google Books preview of Moore's invaluable book, though unfortunately the above pages are not included in the preview.
