Rowland Hilder

Rowland Frederick Hilder (1905–1993) was an American-born, English landscape artist and book illustrator. He moved to England with his family in 1915 and studied at Goldsmith’s College of Art in south London. His interest in the English countryside developed into a lifelong passion for drawing and painting landscapes. Hilder served as President of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours between 1964 and 1974.
