The Iconography of the Art of Teotihuacán
George Kubler

The detailed meaning of the art of Teotihuacan remains a mystery. There are no texts coeval with its forms, and no image has been clearly or unequivocally identified in the terms intended by its maker. This volume attempts to define iconographic relationships, rather than focusing on single themes or searching for a single key to unlock all the meanings of Teotihuacan iconography. It aims for an intermediate solution by attempting to describe the whole configuration and its internal relationships.
