Paris XVIo.

Paris, October 4th 1950

Dear Robert,

Many thanks for your letter of September 28th, which I have just received, and for your kind willingness to see my friend Gallarati Scotti.Don Lodovico Gallarati Scotti (1923–2013), an Italian aristocrat and lawyer who was Prince of Molfetta after 1966.

I am just moving into a flat at 55 Avenue Foch, Paris XVIe, Telephone: Passy 66-04. Please address me there until further notice. Elisina is still in the country and staying about a fortnight more before coming up to Paris. She has a reservation to sail for America on the Niew Amsterdam,SS Nieuw Amsterdam,a 1937 Dutch passenger ocean liner built for the Holland America Line. The Nieuw Amsterdam was the second of four Holland America ships with that name and is considered by many to have been Holland America’s finest ship. It was the most popular ship of the 1930s, besides the Queen Mary. due to arrive in New York on November 6th. She will of course call you up as soon as she gets in. I think she will be staying at the Sulgrave,Sulgrave, a hotel at Park Avenue and East 67th Street, New York. Park Avenue at 67th Street.

I have not heard from Mildred since she arrived in England, and don’t know whether she will be able to get over to Paris at all before she leaves on the return trip for the U.S.A. I am writing to her to London, begging her to let me know as much as possible in advance, if she does come to Paris.

Yours ever

R. Tyler
