Dear Robert.

Very many thanks for your letter of Dec. 22, with its enclosures, which it is most kind of you to have obtained for me. I should have answered it ten days ago, when it reached me, but I’ve been in a rush all this time, and am now enjoying the first few hours let-up since the New Year.

You’ve no doubt seen Bill since his return, and perhaps you even know what his plans are. I’ve heard nothing from him since he left England.
