Description

The Abencerrajes Palace was organized around a large courtyard, which was still visible in eighteenth-century architectural plans, which had a large pond and two symmetrical flowerbeds. It was probably built between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. It was partially excavated in 1957 and later between 1990 and 1991.

Napoleon’s army destroyed the palace when it blew up the walls of the Alhambra.
