Commentary

Decasyllable. In his unpublished catalogue of the Shaw collection, Laurent restores the word γραφῶν in a hypothetical first line, making it a dodecasyllable. Wassiliou-Seibt follows his reading. However, there do not seem to be remains of this word, but indeed, do seem to be remains of a decoration over the top remaining line. Thus, it seems more likely that the τῶν is without an attached noun, referring thus to γραφῶν or λόγων, and that this is a ten syllable, not a twelve syllable, verse.
