Commentary

The reverse monogram is likely intended to read stratelates, but it is missing a sigma--perhaps this can be found in the arms of the monogram, as is very unusual for a cruciform monogram. More likely it was mistakenly omitted by the engraver, as there seems to be no other possible reading of the monogram other than stratelates.
