Commentary
A dodecasyllabic verse employing the archaic thytes in place of the owner's title. When publishing this specimen, Laurent misread the saint's name on the obverse as George (because of the crosslet at the bottom of the column at left, that he took for a Ρ) so creating the false impression that this specimen differed from BZS 1958.106.1950. He attributed the present seal to the metropolitan Sergios, attested in 1094/95 (REB 29 [1971] 218), which seems quite probable.
