Christ, help your servant John monk (?) (and) patriarchal chartoularios.

Commentary

Laurent reads the second line of the reverse as ΝΗΠΑ and saw the owner as a patriarchal chartoularios. However, the third letter is clearly an alpha, and there is no Π visible. We have therefore amended his reading, interpreting the Α as the beginning of the AX abbreviation for monk, a logical possibility for a patriarchal chartoularios, and a common two letter abbreviation that fits within the space.
