Translation

Νικολάῳ μητροπολίτῃ Νεοκαισαρείας.

Nicholas, metropolitan of Neokaisareia.

Commentary

Laurent misinterpreted the effaced obverse and saw a bust of the Virgin. St. Gregory Thaumatourgos is directly related to the church of Neokaisareia and is represented on the seals of many prelates of this metropolis.
