Obverse

Bust of St Thomas holding a scroll and offering a blessing. Sigla on either side: |Θ|Μ|Α|Σ: ὁ ἅ(γιος) Θωμάς. Within concentric borders of dots, a circular inscription beginning with a cross at twelve o'clock:

ΑΓΙΕΘΜΑΟΗΘΓΔΕΛΙΤΤΖΙΚΑΝΔΙΛΗ

ἅγιε Θωμᾶ βοήθει Γουδελίῳ τῷ Τζικανδίλῃ

Inscription of six lines beginning with a cross. Border of dots.

οὗ σφραγίς εἰμι τὴν γραφὴν ὁρῶν νόει

Translation

ἅγιε Θωμᾶ βοήθει Γουδελίῳ τῷ Τζικανδίλῃ. οὗ σφραγίς εἰμι τὴν γραφὴν ὁρῶν νόει.

St Thomas, help Goudelios Tzikandiles. Whose seal I am, know by looking at the letter.

Commentary

An odd combination of a reverse inscription identifying the owner with a typical metrical inscription inviting the recipient to learn the owner's name by looking at the document.
