Translation

Κανδίδου (?) ἀπὸ ἐπάρχων.

(Seal of) Kandidos (?) apo eparchon.

Commentary

The reading of the monogram as the name Κανδίδου is uncertain; it is a common monogram for διακόνου, however with the title ἀπὸ ἐπάρχων on the reverse, a name is required on the obverse. Ἀκινδύνου is another possible yet less likely resolution of the obverse monogram. A mistakenly carved Νικολάου is possible though much less likely, on account of the clear presence of a Δ.
