Translation

Χριστέ βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Τελερὺγ Θεοφυλάκτῳ πατρικίῳ.

Christ, help your servant Teleryg-Theophylaktos, patrikios.

Commentary

The owner of this seal was the Bulgar khan Teleryg who is known to have been baptised in Constantinople in 776/77, to have received the title patrikios, and to have married the cousin of the empress Eirene. But as Oikonomides points out, Theophylaktos must be understood as Teleryg's baptismal name and not as an epithet accompanying patrikios.
