Commentary
As Laurent pointed out, Philotheos of Euchaita distinguished himself as ambassador of the emperors Nikephoros Phokas and John Tzimiskes and seems to have received at the end (after issuing the present specimen) the title of synkellos (Dölger, Regesten nos. 695, 718, 739, 740).
