Commentary

This is the same seal as BZS.1955.1.292, though from a different boulleterion. The reverse cruciform monogram on this seal is difficult to resolve. On the related .292, Zacos has no answer (Zacos-Veglery, no. 342). The letter to the left of the κ at the right termination of the crucifix is seemingly an η, however taking it as such makes the resolution impossible; if it is taken as an unneeded letter, a misspelling caused by iotacization, then the resolution βασιλικοῦ νοταρίου is clear.
