Translation

Seal of the eparch Dominikos Manios, koiaistor and ephoros in other bureaux.

Commentary

We have taken the unusual phrase σὺν ἄλλοις ἐφόρου to mean that the owner supervised a number of bureaux in the central administration.

Wassiliou-Seibt speculates that the rare image of St Markianos and evidence from other seals suggest that the owner was of Sicilian origin. See the remarks in her commentary to the entry in her catalogue.
