Block monogram, reading ἀπὸ ὑπάτων. Inscription in three parts around monogram: to l. and r., ΒΟ, and below, ΗΘΗ: βοήθη. Wreath border.

Translation

Θεοτόκε βοήθη Ἰωαννικίῳ ἀπo ὑπάτων.

Theotokos, help Ioannikios, apo hypaton.

Commentary

Zacos reads the obverse monogram as Κωνσταντίνῳ, however that is unlikely because there is no σ present. Zacos mentions another specimen of this same Ioannikios with similar crosses at the top of the vertical bars of his name's monogram.
