Translation

Κύριε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Στυλιανῷ ἐπισκόπῳ Ἑξαμιλίου.

Lord, help your servant Stylianos bishop of Hexamilion.

Commentary

Another specimen (from a different boulloterion) issued in the name of a Stylianos and decorated with a representation of the Forerunner, is found in the Vienna collection (Laurent, Corpus V/1, no. 325). Laurent is probably correct that both specimens were used by the same person. Cf. Asdracha, Thrace orientale, 295.
