Bust of St. George, details somewhat unclear, but he seems to be dressed in clerical garb and holds a martyr's cross before him. Inscription in two columns: |γ|ε|ρ|γ,: Ὁ ἅ(γιος) Γεώργ(ιος). Border of dots.

Reverse

Inscription of five lines, the final letter between horizontal bars. Border of dots.

Translation

Lord, help John, nephew (of the bishop) of Makre.

Commentary

It is not obvious whether this seal refers to Makre of Lycia or its homonym, the maritime city of Makre situated opposite the island of Samothrace.
