Translation

Σφραγὶς φυλακτὴρ τῆς γραφῆς Νικηφόρου σπαθηφοροῦντος ἐν κουβικουλαρίοις.

The seal protects the correspondence of the spatharokoubikoularios Nikephoros.

Commentary

Two twelve-syllable verses identifying the owner as a eunuch holding the dignity of spatharokoubikoularios, here expressed in a circumlocution translated literally as a "sword-bearer among the chamberlains."
