Commentary
Laurent read the first line of the reverse as ΑΓ ,... : Ἁγίας Ἐκκλησίας and dated the seal to the sixth century.; Zacos and Veglery read the line as .ΩΝ : Τῶν and dated the seal to the eighth. As the latter authors have stressed, the seal may well have belonged to the church of Germia, since it represents its patron saint.
