Commentary

A Theodore patrikios and strategos of Sicily is attested around 710, another one in 789 (Brown, Gentlemen, 65, 278; Winkelmann, Ämterstruktur, 85, 86). A different seal that belonged to Theodore patrikios, imperial protospatharios and strategos of Sicily, is published in Sig., 215 note 2, no. 7 = Birch, 17740.
