Commentary
Schlumberger (Sig., 151) has published the seal of a George whose titles he read as νοταρίῳ, ὀστιαρίῳ καὶ μεγάλῳ κουράτωρι τῶν Μαγγάνων. The seal is in Vienna (MK 88, Wassiliou-Seibt, Die byzantinischen Bleisiegel in Österreich II, no. 37). W. Seibt has noted that the specimen dates to the ninth century, and that it belongs not to a notarios and ostiarios, but instead to an imperial ostiarios (Γ,R,ΟCΤΙΑ).
