G. Morris Steinbraker

G. Morris Steinbraker (1893-1975)

G. Morris Steinbraker was born at 3321 Q Street NW in 1893. The Washington, D.C. native established his own general contracting firm in 1944, called G. Morris Steinbraker & Son, Inc. He and his son George ran the business together, and his grandson David Steinbraker also apprenticed under him. Steinbraker made a name for himself and his business by following the maxim, "The customer is always right." These old-school manners gained Steinbraker a number of important clientele, including Dumbarton Oaks. G. Morris Steinbraker died in 1975, but the business he established is still run by his grandson today.
