Description

Letter mentions there is a Harvard Corporation meeting at Dumbarton Oaks soon; therefore, Beatrix Farrand does not want to write Mildred Bliss directly regarding book purchases. Beatrix Farrand mentions three recommended books that are available from Charles W. Traylen (Firm), No. 338, Mrs. (Jane) Loudon's, The Ladies Flower Garden, a 5 volume set selling for 80 pounds; No. 347, J.G. Millais, Rhododendrons ... etc." at 35 pounds; and No. 284, Reginald Farrer's, My Rock Garden at 35 pounds. Beatrix Farrand would like to get approval from Mildred Bliss before purchasing the first two books because of the high cost. Also includes a list of other books available for purchase and cost for each from William Helburn, Inc.

A card from the Harvard Library that Beatrix Farrand received was enclosed with letter and asked for it to be returned.

On Beatrix Farrand's Reef Point, Bar Harbor, Maine letterhead.

Handwritten signature and postscript in ink.
