Description
Letter discusses rare books she advises against purchasing for the Dumbarton Oaks Garden Center library. These rare books with list price include: No. 23, Francesco Colonna, Hypnerotomachia songe de poliphile; No 81. and No. 82, Guillaume de Lorris, Roman de la rose; No. 353, Lorenzo Berlèse, book on [Iconographie du genre] camellias; and No. 354, Pierre-Joseph Buc'hoz, [Collection coloriée des plus belles variétés de] Tulipes .... She also mentions the Pancrace Bessa, Guirlande de Flore; Crispijn van de Passe, Hortus floridus ... ; the books by Jean Baptiste Monnoyer; and the Johann Wilhelm Weinmann, Phytanthoza iconographia.
She mentions that Anne Sweeney has sent her an account for cash spent since July 1948 on subscriptions, periodicals, societies, postcards, prints and postage and requests a check for Anne Sweeney. Beatrix Farrand is busy with writing reports and bulletins and asks Mildred Bliss not to be disappointed if she doesn't receive a list of monographs to purchase quickly.
