Typewritten letter on Beatrix Farrand's New York letterhead. Address crossed out and "Valley Club of Montecito, Santa Barbara, California." typed beneath it. Signed in black ink. "Ans[w]er" penciled across the top of the letter. "Jack" penciled in left-hand margin beside second paragraph probably referring to John Thacher. Penciled lines around second paragraph.
