Discusses the draft report of the Dumbarton Oaks Plant Book for the Dumbarton Oaks Gardens and Mildred Bliss' gratitude for the creation of it and responses to letters that Beatrix Farrand had written to Mildred Bliss from May 26-August 14, 1944. Mentions receiving a delightful letter from Mr. Van Rensselaer of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and request for Mildred Bliss to provide suggestions and revisions for his proposed draft pamphlet.

Enclosed with letter was a copy of the acknowledgment of Mildred Bliss' gift to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden by General Lassiter and the Board of Trustees which is no longer with this letter. Also mentioned is an enclosed letter from Radcliffe which is no longer with this letter. Beatrix Farrand was asked to return the Radcliffe letter along with her advice.

Mildred Bliss expresses the desire to talk over ideas she has for the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden's future development.

In the letter, Mildred Bliss mentions that the Four Power Conference (known as the Dumbarton Oaks Conversations or the Conversations on International Organization, 1944, Washington, D.C.) will complicate the scholastic year at Dumbarton Oaks. An exhibition catalog was produced from the exhibit that commemorated the 50th Anniversary of the Dumbarton Oaks Conversations titled, Dumbarton Oaks Conversations, 1944-1994.
