Description

Painting signed A.C., created by Allyn Cox as a design for the loggia alcove possibly to accompany his Diana and Actaeon design for the arched panels.

Painting undated, probably created in 1927 along with designs for the loggia arched panels and part of the re-design of the Swimming Pool and Loggia. See similar painting dated 1927, GD I-3-80D.

Allyn Cox painted murals using oil on canvas for placement in the loggia. The canvas paintings for the panels were removed in 1948 due to deterioration, and the loggia's three arched panels were replaced with mosaics by the Venetian Art Mosaics Studio following the same design between 1960-1970.
