Description

The pepper pot finial and bench at the west of the loggia, as it appeared after construction was completed in the 1930s.

Drawings exist of a pepper pot by Armand Albert Rateau, who created alternative designs for this part of the garden in 1929.

Stewart Bros. Photographers took photographs of the Dumbarton Oaks Gardens which were numbered 101-305 and placed in The Bliss Album of Garden Photographs. This photograph has #134 on verso and corresponds to 134 in the album.Photograph undated, probably taken 1930-1935.
