The Rincon Mountains rim the sandy mesa upon which Stone Ashley is placed. From their foothills came the boulders for its walls; and their shadows suggested the color of the roof tiles, which range from peacock blue to black. And out of the clear beauty of the Arizona night sky came the inspiration for the star motif which appears in many decorative details of the estate.
