The Meriden Gravure Company in Meriden, Connecticut, was founded in 1888 by Charles Parker and James F. Allen as the successor to a previous printing operation established by Parker. The company specialized in high-quality image reproduction. Meriden Gravure was also known for high-quality books illustrating art and design history. In 1977, the company merged with the Stinehour Press in Lunenburg, Vermont, and in 1989, the Meriden operations were closed and the Meriden Gravure presses moved to the Vermont location.
