Venice. View of the Lagoon from the Doge’s Palace.

The view of the Lagoon and islands as seen from the central window of the Doge’s Palace is the most magnificent that can be imagined. Below the balcony are the headquarters of the gondoliers, where numerous gondolas are always in the waiting to take visitors to any required point. To the right is the Grand Canal.
