Garden Description

Evliya Çelebi describes the tomb: “Sultan Süleyman [1520–1566] was buried in front of the mihrab wall of his mosque within a garden akin to paradise, that is lavishly furnished with vineyards, irem gardens, and rose gardens.” The tomb (türbe) is in the complex of the Süleymaniye Mosque, constructed between 1550 and 1558.
