Notes

Original box:

Washington, D.C.
Dumbarton Oaks Ms. no. 1

Negative Microfilm 67.181

The number 67.181 seems rather to be an order-number (see below), which would mean it was done in 1967.

A hundred and fifty-something frames (of two open pages), some of them repeated; numeration obscured.

Most quite visible, but some of them faded to where some of the text may not be entirely legible. Many wonderful, small illustrations, most notably of important gospel figures (Christ, &c.) used as capital letters at the beginning of sections of text: by photographing the negative film in negative, some of the charm does come through.

After the photographs of the manuscript a photo of the order form. In a box in the corner is handwritten the number 67.181. Under "Additional Instructions or Information" it reads, "Microfilm entire manuscript, Gospel lectionary, Byzantine, 11th century (D.O. Mss. No. 1.) – One copy for Mrs. Reed, one copy with bill to Miss Boyd. [handwritten:] (MSS. in Miss Boyd's office.)] / Copy fols. 210r-360v. of Microfilm of Psalter and New Testament, 63.73 (include charges for this on above bill)."

The number 63.73 refers to our film WAS.1.2 (of Dumbarton Oaks Manuscript 3).
