Lord, help your servant Theodore Makrembolites, protospatharios and domestikos of the Optimatoi.

Commentary

The restitution of the family name is tentative. Other seals of eleventh-century persons named Theodore Makrembolites are mentioned in Seyrig, 113, and in Šandrovskaja, Sfragistika, no. 772. For the twelfth century, see Laurent, Corpus V/3, no. 1798.
