Translation

Θεοτόκε βοήθει Ἀθανασίῳ μοναχῷ καὶ ἐπισκόπῳ Παρνασοῦ.

Mother of God, help Athanasios, monk and bishop of Parnassos.

Commentary

Today Degirmenyolu (formerly Parlasan), to the east of the Tuz Gölü, the bishopric of Parnassos appears in the fourth century and is listed as a suffragan of Mokissos in Cappadocia III from the seventh to the thirteenth century (Darrouzès, Notitiae, no. 1, l. 411; no. 13, l. 464).
