Bust of St. George holding spear and small round shield. Inscription in two columns: |Γ|Ε|.|Γ,: Ὁ ἅγιος Γεώργιος. Border of dots.


Six lines of inscription, the final two letters (not visible) set between horizontal bars (only the one on the right survives). Border of dots.

Basil Synadenos (?) protospatharios and strategos of Dyrrachion.


The reconstruction of the family name is probable but not certain. Basil Synadenos was strategos of Dyrrachion at the time of Peter Deljan's revolt in Macedonia in 1040. Cf. Ferluga, Byzantium, 237.
