Obverse

Cruciform invocative monogram composed of Θ in the center, Ο below, R at the top, Η on the left and ΕΙ on the right: βοήθει; a six-rayed star in each quarter. Circular inscription along the circumference. No visible border.

Inscription of five lines. Linear border.

Translation

Ἅναρχε Κύριε καὶ ἐκ Θεοῦ λόγαι βοήθει Ἰωάννῃ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ, ἐπὶ τοῦ Χρυσοτρικλίνου καὶ βασιλικῷ Χαλδίας.

Infinite Lord and Word of God, help John, protospatharios epi tou Chrysotriklinou and basilikos of Chaldia.

Commentary

We understand ΛΟΓΑΙ in the obverse inscription to be a homophonic rendering of the vocative ΛΟΓΕ.
