Translation

Lord, help your servant Theophylaktos, imperial protospatharios and epi tou mystikou domou.

Commentary

The conjectural readings of the name on this poorly preserved seal, and the rarely attested office of the epi tou mystikou domou, are based on Laurent's unpublished catalogue. It is not out of the question that the last two lines could be reconstructed as ἐπὶ τῶν ἀξιομάτων.

On the rare epi tou mystikou domou see also BZS 1947.2.702.
