Translation

Νικηφόρου σφράγισμα τῶν γραφῶν φέρω Δερμοκαΐτου σεβαστοῦ τὴν ἀξίαν.

I bear the seal of the writings of Nikephoros Dermokaites, sebastos by title.

Commentary

Wassiliou-Seibt suggests that the owner of this seal may be identical with a sebastos named Dermokaites recorded (without his Christian name) in 1306/1307. Note also a Nikephoros Dermokaites recorded in a cleverly worded metrical verse on an early thirteenth-century seal (Siegel mit metrischen Legenden I, no. 1300).

Note the interesting ligatures and the unusual sigma (σ) at the beginning of the third line of the reverse.
